  • Marine Corps Marathon Training – Week 1

I was on the fence about whether or not to post weekly updates for Marine Corps Marathon training.

My main concern is keeping up with the updates. If you’re regular reader here, you may know that I don’t really post that often. I’m working on that though! Blogging more is one of my goals this year. Maybe that’s what I need… something like weekly updates to keep me on a blog-writing schedule, and to also hold me accountable in sticking to the training plan.

  • Marine Corps Marathon – Training and Goals

    Marathon

    Hot days are here.
And pretty soon, marathon training will be, too. (starts tomorrow, actually!)

I’m excited about doing the Marine Corps Marathon again. It’s such a fun event. So much energy. I also know a lot of people participating this year, which is cool.

  • Hello, June

    steps

    I can’t believe it’s already June.

Do you ever go through periods where life is so busy and you’re kind of on auto-pilot, quickly moving from one task to the next, barely having time to soak in the moment? That’s kind of how I’ve been feeling these past few weeks.

  • Marine Corps Marathon — Take 2

    Marine Corps Marathon 2015
    I’m in!

I won the lottery again — the Marine Corps Marathon lottery!

In the end, I decided to go for it – and I got in!

Run the Marine Corps Marathon…? Check!

A year ago, I never would have imagined that I would complete a marathon. I’ve always thought running 26.2 miles was just too much. From a fitness perspective, it just seemed unnecessary (I mean, a few miles a day is good enough, right??).

For our 25th birthdays, my friends and I each made a list of things we wanted to do/accomplish by the time we turned 30. One friend had run a marathon on her list. But not me. It was just something I really had no desire to do. (My list included things like go skydiving – check, visit all seven continents – fail, pay down debt – check… but then I acquired more debt, so…)

Nope, running a full marathon was definitely not on my list, not in the cards for me. Or so I thought.
