So, I get back to my desk on Monday from a 1.5 hour-long meeting, and my colleagues walk up to me with cake and a card.
I’m all like… “cake?? For what? My birthday was in June!”
Turns out the cake and card was to wish me luck on the Marine Corps Marathon this Sunday.
I have awesome colleagues.

This past week was low-key in terms of running and mileage. I ran the 10 miles on Saturday morning with a friend on a path near our neighborhood. It was a great run. The weather was perfect. And despite the fact that I stayed out a tad too late the night before, I was feeling pretty good during the run (I totally passed out for about two hours afterward though).
The tapering has been nice. It’s giving my legs a break, and adding more time to my evening schedule to do other things.
This week, my goal is take it easy and stay positive for the Sunday. I can’t believe MCM is just days away.

My friends and I do Friendsigiving every year. It’s always a great time to catch up with people and eat amazing food. This year, I’m making some sort of sweet potato dish. I tested Smitten Kitchen’s crispy sweet potato roast on Saturday, and it was absolutely delicious. I think that’s the dish I’m bringing to Friendsgiving.
All you need are sweet potatoes, butter, olive oil, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

Hope you’re all having a great week.
