
I am now a month into training. I am tired and sore. And some days, Iβm not really sure if Iβve improved much.
This past week didnβt really go as planned. I was feeling a little sick at the beginning of the week (minor cold). And just when I was feeling better, I started getting abdominal pains. The pain started on Thursday and persisted throughout the weekend while I was in Chicago for the Rock n Roll Half Marathon. Thankfully, I was able to run in the race, but it put a bit of a downer on the trip.

Monday, July 13 β rest
Tuesday, July 14 βΒ 4 miles β treadmill (AM)
Wednesday, July 15 βΒ Yoga (30 minutes at home)
Thursday, July 16 βΒ 4 miles β treadmill (AM)
Friday, July 17 βΒ off
Saturday, July 18 βΒ off
Sunday, July 19 βΒ 13.1 miles (Chicago Rock n Roll Half Marathon)
Total βΒ 21.1 miles
Cross-training βΒ yoga
I was supposed to run on Wednesday and Friday, but I just couldnβt make it. Maybe this week will be better. Week 5 is a 34 mile week (!!) β 20 during the week and a 14-mile long run. Weβll see how much of that I actually complete. Goals: complete at least 75 percent of weekday runs, stretch wayyy more.
